These are my photographer friends, James and Marv, preparing for a group shot. We wanted a scenic backdrop with that mountain (err Mt. Arayat?) and a field, but in retrospect the scene behind them was pretty cool too!
It was a crowd of people, lazing about in a field on their blankets with their families and gadgets waiting for the hot air balloons to return, under a sky full of kites which incidentally, look nicer in real life because in photos, a sky full of motionless kites look like bugs stuck in a giant spiderweb spun by an evil, hairy, overlord-ish tarantula about to appear from the horizon and feed on the hapless men and women that strayed in its web.
Anyway, yep. That goes on in my head. Still, a crowd under a sky of full of kites! Pretty!

Sto. Nino Festival 01-15-12
Calumpit Bulacan
My lovely province has a very interesting way of celebrating the Sto. Nino festival every January - a huge parade where candy rains from the sky! The Sto. Nino is paraded around the main thoroughfare followed by a procession of people, whether it be because of their strong faith and devotion to the Sto. Nino or merely an intense desire to satisfy their sweet tooths. Either way, the paraders always take excellent photos!
You can see practically every human emotion in the crowd. From determination, displayed by bites-his-shirt guy. To desperation, displayed by boy in lower right. To indifference, displayed by random pair of legs at the top of the bottom photo. And even the Homer “Doh!” displayed by blue sando in the 2nd photo. Go on, try it!
